market weekend

We are enjoying being back at market. It is fun to see how much happiness Orson brings... he can put a smile on even the crankiest vendor's face! I haven't taken many pictures of market (the weather has been rainy and chilly) but here are a few from this weekend...

rainy days

Portland has been so rainy lately! We are stuck indoors, trying to amuse ourselves...
Orson likes to pretend the hallway light is the sun.

grandpa david... this one's for you

No pressure, but Grandpa David has mentioned that he would not be disappointed if Orson decided to become a baseball player (preferably a left-handed pitcher).

tongue tied

Maybe Orson has decided his tongue is too big for his mouth. Or maybe he wants to taste the air... but whatever the reason is, every time I look at Orson today he is sticking his tongue out!

I'll wait a few days before calling the doctor...

congrats uncle kent!!!

Hooray for Uncle Kent! He is graduating today (from law school) and we are so proud of him! Seems like yesterday when we were celebrating his high school graduation (pictured)... We love you Uncle Kent!

pizza boy

The boys went for a walk and came home with pizza! Orson had his own slice but preferred to eat the toppings off of Daddy's pizza.

whateeesssiiittt?

When people ask me if Orson says any words I hesistate to tell them he says "what is it?" But if you spend more than a few minutes around Orson, you'll most likely hear him say it while pointing to something (very often it's a ceiling fan). Just ask Aunt Marty, she roomed with us at the lake house and our room had a fan:)

the farm!

Orson, Uncle Kent, and I drove to the farm. Family gathered to help celebrate Grandpa Bruce's birthday...
Look at Orson in the background saying Grandpa is "so big!"
Grandpa was a good sport about wearing the party hat Orson made...
Cousin Jack was Orson's favorite person. Jack introduced Orson to all sorts of new foods...

We took a fun, rainy walk around the farm.

The greenhouse was full of flowers...

Orson loved going up & down the steps...
And he enjoyed napping in Grandma's arms...
Orson sang while Uncle Kent played the piano...

Orson was excited to ride in the gator out to the pond...

The pond looked great...

Uncle Kent & Orson relaxed by the water...

Grandma took us to the zoo! The weather was beautiful. There weren't any crowds. This was probably due to the fact that we only saw a few animals. And they were all sleeping. It was hysterical.

Here's Orson & Grandma near an empty cage...

The flamingo was the most animated...

The emu didn't move at all...

The yaks were sleepy too...

This statue was our best photo opportunity...

We strolled down to Ralph & Patsy's homestead...

Patsy & the dogs (Sammie & puppy Annie) showed Orson & me their pond...

Goodbye Grandma, Grandpa, and the farm... thank you for wonderful time!

chicago!

Orson loved Chicago.

One of his favorite things to do was watch the trains go by from Nana & Grandpa's front windows. Orson also loved playing with all the toys.

Orson & Lucy were such mischief makers!

Grandpa & Orson played every night together...

We went shopping with Nana (and she let Orson ride in the fun cart)...
Orson was always ready to lend a hand in the kitchen...
He and Nana had fun chasing each other up and down the hallway...
Grandpa was so silly (and Orson loved it)!
Here is Orson after stealing Nana's crackers (he tried to hide the evidence by putting them all in his mouth at once)...

Some of Nana's friends gave Orson these fun rain boots!

Orson & I went with Nana and her preschool to the nature preserve...
Orson liked seeing the animals and he loved seeing all the kids!

We went to Aunt Marty & Aunt Tristan's loft for dinner one night...
Orson got to play with a tiara and some dolls (they babysit a little girl frequently)...

Orson, Nana & I also went to see Aunt Kate, Great-Aunt Martha, and Great-Uncle Tim...

Orson & Kate became friends quickly...

We had a great time!
