fun with the quilt

Orson has 2 new favorite games... both involve the quilt Grandma Sarah made...
He loves to lie on the floor and I toss the quilt over him and we play "peek-a-boo."
In the 2nd game, I hold one end of the quilt and say "all-aboard!" Orson scrambles onto the quilt and I pull him around the room. He could do this for hours and some days we do!

cartoon orson

A caricature artist at the market did Orson's portrait this weekend. Orson loved the attention from the crowd that gathered while getting his picture drawn.

market nap

Orson fought napping at the market on Saturday but eventually the nap won. He slept through balloons popping, dogs barking and people admiring his cuteness.

first tooth!

Orson's first tooth is starting to appear. It's his lower left front tooth. I attempted to take a picture of it, but Orson did not want to cooperate. (I'll keep trying)

picnic crazy

Picnics are perfect for warm weather and babies. Daddy got home early from class and we walked over to the park and ate dinner. Let's see... that's 3 picnics in 4 days!

an apple a day

Orson is a big believer in sharing, especially when it comes to food. He will stop at nothing to get to my plate. I find the best way to eat in relative peace is to give him half an apple or a big carrot to "chew" on.

spontaneous picnic

Orson & I had the car today (Daddy got a ride to school ) and we ran a bunch of errands. Our last trip was supposed to be to the grocery store but for some reason I found myself driving towards the Gorge. Orson & I found a cozy spot on the river and we watched the windsurfers sail down the Columbia River Gorge.

day in the park

Today we went to a picnic given by Daddy's school. The weather was lovely, 70 degrees and mostly sunny. Our favorite part was getting to ride the carousel.
Orson tried out a horse but settled on a wagon...

i can do it myself

Orson is enjoying trying new foods. But he insists on feeding himself. Thank you Great-Aunt Martha for sending us more bibs!

standing up

Orson loves to stand and hold on to the table. He has found the treasury of things that are "not for baby" (coffee cup, remote control, candles, etc...)

rolling about

Orson is exploring new places in the living room and loving it! Hanging out under the coffee table has been popular this evening.

on his way

Orson discovered the joy of mobility. Guess how he got from his quilt to the doorway of the kitchen.

gator fun

You might remember pictures of Grandpa Bruce driving Orson around the farm on his Gator. Grandpa gave Orson a smaller version to play with here in Portland. Orson loves to sit and pretend he's back driving around on the farm.

thanks daddy!

Daddy came home last night with a gift for Orson!
Orson loved tearing the wrapping paper...
The gift was a really cool wooden dragon that will be lots of fun to play with and chew on!

monday visit

Orson & I got a visit from Naomi & Micah on Monday. They brought us lunch and after eating we walked over to the neighborhood playground.
Orson watched Micah run around while Naomi & I caught up on some important gossip (just kidding, we would never gossip!)
