We were so excited to see Nana last week!  She came to help us house hunt (thank you!) and to spend some time with Orson...

Nana discovered Orson still loves a good book...Nana & Orson were so silly together!  Orson loved dumping all his toys in a pile around Grandma...Orson showed Nana his favorite video...Nana managed to squeeze in some shopping at the market.  She & Orson also had a little quiet time together before the market started...

zoo surprise!

When Byron suggested going to the zoo on Monday, I had no idea he had arranged for us to meet Leah, Naomi, Yeder & Micah there for a birthday celebration! 

We ate lunch and then Micah had to head off to his swim lesson!  (thank you for my orangutan!)Leah wandered the zoo with us and took pictures of Orson.

Naomi, Yeder & Micah hosted a barbecue on Sunday night...Orson enjoyed exploring their backyard.  Micah's clubhouse is the coolest...Orson & Byron admired Micah's chalk drawing of the Fremont Bridge...Naomi entertained and impressed us all with her hoola hoop skills...Orson gave the hoola hoop a try...He is getting big enough to sit at the kiddie table...

By the end of the today Orson was a silly, sticky mess of sunblock, yogurt smoothie, and sweat.  His bath required a little more soap than usual!

It is a hot week here in Portland so Orson & I walked to a local park to cool off.  If you look behind Orson you can see the fountain/wading pool...  I imagine Orson & I spending a lot of time here this summer!

orson update

Sorry I haven't updated the blog lately!  We have been busy and sick.  We are finally feeling better!  Here's a few highlights from the past week...

On Saturday Byron played the mainstage at the market.  This was the first time Orson & I have gotten to see Daddio perform... it was great! 

Early last week we spent a few hours at the zoo...

The animals were just starting to wake up as Orson was needing to take a nap...
